This season, you’re invited to have your game birds prepared by a professional chef at a local restaurant, so you can take the enjoyment of eating your harvested birds to another level with the 2012 Gamebird Food Festival.
Get together with a group of hunting mates, treat your long suffering ‘duck widow’ to a special night out, or introduce non-hunters to the gourmet delights of game bird dishes.
This year the festival is not just about fine dining, we’re spreading the word about how good game birds are as a natural, tasty food source through a nationwide series of game bird preparation and cooking demonstrations. Check back soon for some exciting announcements!
The festival runs for nine weeks from May 5 through to July 8 2012, and it’s easy to get involved.
Simply call a participating festival eatery, book your table and drop your game birds into the chef at least 24 hours before you dine. Then, just sit back and enjoy a gourmet meal of your harvest!
Eateries, special events and demonstrations will be added to the 2012 Gamebird Food Festival right up to opening weekend. So, vist this website regularly and also sign up here for Both Barrels, the Fish & Game NZ hunting newsletter. You can also join Fish & Game NZ on facebook and Twitter to be the first to get the latest news on this year's festival!
