Gather together friends and family and dine out with your harvested gamebirds.

The 2011 Gamebird Food Festival is an opportunity to enjoy gourmet dishes created by some of the country’s most renowned chefs, using your own gamebird catch.

The festival runs concurrent with the gamebird hunting season, from 8 May to 3 July 2011.

Just call a participating festival restaurant from the list and let them know that you would like to dine on your gamebirds. The restaurant will discuss your dining options with you. Then you deliver the dressed wild game birds to the restaurant at least 24-48 hours in advance and festival chefs will prepare a feast.

Now in its 6th year, the Gamebird Food Festival is an initiative of Fish & Game NZ to promote responsible, licensed hunting and the value of gamebirds as a natural and desirable food. Game birds are free range, organic and delicious !
