Riverstone Kitchen in Oamaru, Supreme Winner of Cuisine Magazine’s Restaurant of the Year 2010, is the latest restaurant to join the list of participating restaurants for 2011
Bevan Smith, chef, opened Riverstone Kitchen in 2006 after moving home with his wife Monique to start a family and he is fast becoming one of New Zealand’s most recognized chefs. He strongly believes in cooking with only the freshest and best seasonal ingredients and is passionate about using good, local produce.

Situated on the shores of Lake Rotorua, Mokoia Restaurant is a definitive fine dining experience specialising in Pacific Rim Cuisine, using indigenous herbs and spices to express the essence of contemporary New Zealand culture.
Ervin and his team won the New Zealand Beef and Lamb Hallmark of Excellence in 2010 and 2011, as well as helping gain the Resort a Qualmark 4.5 star rating.
According to chief executive of Mokoia Restaurant Bryan Hughes: “At Mokoia Restaurant we love setting ourselves challenges and the Gamebird Food Festival is an opportunity for hunters to have their game birds prepared by our award-winning chef, who uses fresh indigenous herbs and spices not readily available in the shops to really enhance the game bird flavours”.

18/4/2011 Return of Festival Favourites
There are over 20 restaurants participating in the 2011 Gamebird Food Festival, with a nationwide spread between Whangarei and Invercargill. Rose France, Event Manager says “We are delighted to welcome back some of the regular festival faithful including Cazador, à Deco, Bistro 1284, Café Nero, Fusion and Café de Paris. We value their support and creativity in promoting and celebrating wild gamebird cuisine”.
